Where Are We Going for Holidays?

Have you thought where you are going to spend the New Year's Eve? Will you stay at home, around the Christmas tree, together with your family, or you will get dressed fancy to go somewhere else? Personally, I am convinced that, after an autumn of preparing canned food, preserves and compotes, most of the housekeepers would prefer to "lock" the kitchen and to spend the last days of year 2001 and especially the night that will get us in the next year differently. They would like to be elegant, perfumed, enjoying the good food cooked by chefs, clashing a glass of champagne, dancing with their beloved ones, on their favorite rhythms, in a special atmosphere. As for the gentlemen, I think that they would also enjoy "a night out", as a simple consequence of the fact that they are hoping that after serving a copious meal to eliminate the possibility to listen the "criticizing" discourses of their companions, who always start with the usual: "At least for Holidays…"
Anyway, we all deserve "something special"…at least for Holidays!

CFR SA Company addresses to all the railway employees, and not only, the invitation to spend the New Year's Eve 2001-2002, together with their families, friends and colleagues, in its public service provision units. Their teams are competing to demonstrate their professional skills cooking specially for the longest night of the year, besides the delicious courses for the festive dinner, outstanding parties, which will become beautiful memories over the years.
We have discussed with the persons in charge with the organization of these events and they assured us that they are ready to offer, to the ones that will join them for the "night between the years", specialties, as well as pleasant moments, that they will enjoy for sure and will convince them to become faithful clients. Thus, all four complexes owned by CFR SA Astoria, Snagov Complex, Bucovina and Decebal have finalized their New Year's Eve programs and they are waiting for their guests.
In order to find out which can be our expectations, let's pass by together, for a short - and we hope, edifying preview.

Astoria
In order to spend "the best night", Astoria Complex, situated in the proximity of Gara de Nord Railway Station, has available 80 places in the restaurant and 80 places in the beerhouse, offering to their guests a menu in an amount of 1,200,000 lei per person. Festive dinner will include, among other courses, "the specialty of the house": chicken roll garnished with vegetables a la Astoria, which contains grilled chicken breast filled with sauced mushrooms, with soured cucumbers and shaved pressed cheese. So, what do you think, aren't you already anxious to taste it?
But Astoria does not mean only a first class restaurant and a tempting offer for the New Year's Eve, but also a two stars hotel, having 317 places for accommodation, as double rooms, single rooms or apartments. All the rooms are equipped with color TV sets, cable, home and international phone, some of them being also equipped with air conditioning devices. Conference room, placed at the first floor, has 30 available places, is equipped with an air conditioning device and also audio-visual equipment, being available for being rented for the persons interested in order to organize certain business meetings and sessions.
The day bar (20 places) and the beerhouse (80 places) provide to the tourists specific meals, Romanian traditional wines, fine genuine and imported drinks, as well as various culinary products. When speaking about additional services, Astoria also provides: facsimile, copier, luggage room, guarded parking space, the tourists having the possibility to pay also with the credit card at the reception of the hotel.

Snagov Village
Tourist base Snagov Village, placed at only 40 kilometers from Bucharest, has a surface of 20 hectares and it is situated in a tempting natural area, extremely suitable to relax and to rest, in this respect also taking advantage of special arrangements. Broad leaved trees, coniferous strings, the lake, tennis fields, the pool, the parking space (having 1,000 guarded places), arranged spaces for barbecues and playing areas for kids are a few of the attracting reasons for those willing to spend their spare time in an active mode, especially during summer seasons.
Spending the New Year's Eve 2001-2002 at Snagov will cost the one hundred possible guests (according to the capacity of the place) around 1,800,000 lei per person. And the employees of this complex are convinced that everyone will be satisfied and, as a consequence, many guests will come again with pleasure. And not only for winter Holidays, but also in weekends or in holiday. Those who have chosen this place are also accommodated at:
-Snagov Motel (bungalow), three stars, having a capacity of 18 places, disposed in eight double rooms and two single rooms. Each room has a bathroom, a sanitary group, color TV set, cable and phone;
-Diana Villa, two stars including two apartments, with four places each. These apartments have cable, phone, TV sets and also take advantage of a common kitchen, well equipped (gas cooker and refrigerator), own bathrooms and a covered terrace;
-Snagov Camping, two stars, having 60 camping places, which also have sanitary groups, and showers, being permanently provided with hot, and cold running water.
Its own thermal station provides hot water and heating for all tourists accommodating structures existing in Snagov Village.
The Ist category restaurant of the complex has a capacity of maximum 125 places and a covered terrace, with 175 places. During the season, the orchestra of the restaurant provides a musical program well "selected" every evening. When it comes to the culinary products, "the specialty of the house" is represented by a course named turnedou (beef, chicken livers and Madera sauce), which, I confess, only describing it and it seems more than delicious.

Decebal - Eforie Nord
For a more exotic…"night out", you could spend the New Year's Eve 2001-2002 on the seaside. We have to recognize, the proposal is very tempting, romantic and daring, in the same time. You could spend more than "the night between the years" at the Tourist complex Decebal, managed by Constanta Rail Region. This is placed in the proximity of the Railway station of Eforie Sud resort, on the shore of Techirghiol Lake. If you have the chance to be among the 60 guests that will attend the party, paying 1,200,000 lei per person, a New Year's Eve in here could be an indite experience. And also a successful one!
Placed in an attractive resort through its "opening" to the sea, as well as the famous Techirghiol lake (which curative properties are well-known), but also through the possibility to visit historical Roman vestiges on the Romanian seaside, Decebal hotel enjoys a great popularity during the summer season. But I think that you should know the fact that this hotel is one of the few tourist resorts on the Seaside, which also operates out of summer season. Included in the two stars category, the hotel has a capacity of 52 places, in 26 double rooms, equipped with a sanitary group, color TV set, cable and refrigerator. Its own thermal station provides permanently hot water and heating.
The Complex has at its ground floor a Ist category restaurant with 80 places and a buffet - bar with 40 places, next to the hotel being built also a covered terrace, extremely useful in summer time, when tourists accommodated here are in a large number. In the modern kitchen of the restaurant the specialists are preparing a wide range of culinary products, sprinkled with the wines from our famous vineyards - among which, of course, the star is the Murfatlar -. But the offer comprises fine alcoholic drinks, all of them enhancing unforgettable moments, in the ambiance of a discreet, relaxing music, provided by the sound installation of the restaurant. And, because we have reminded you about the specialties of the house, you have to know that this course is represented at Decebal by the menuet pike…

Bucovina - Vatra Dornei
The spa Vatra Dornei hosts in Strada Republicii nr. 35, the tourist Complex Bucovina, managed by Iasi Rail Region. Wonderful geographical area of Oriental Charpatians, with a lot of mineral springs, Bucovina realms full of legends are enjoying the greatest tourists' fame, in the country and abroad.
CFR Hotel in Vatra Dornei, resort that gained its fame as the pearl of Bucovina, was classified as having two stars and has a capacity of 85 accommodation places, disposed in double and single rooms, and even with three beds, with color TV sets, cable, interurban and international phone. Its own thermal station provides running hot water and heating, thus offering to the hotel thermal autonomy against the network of the resort. An extremely interesting element of the building of the hotel is the outside elevator, which provides to the persons that have movement difficulties the access to the superior floors.
The restaurant has 100 places and makes available for the tourists a wide range of culinary products specific to Bucovina kitchen, and not only. The bar and the terrace of the hotel offers to the clients various drinks, among which, normally, the wines from the most famous Romanian vineyard, which are completed by an ambient as pleasant as possible in order to make you spend unforgettable moments. Additionally, the tourists will find on these picturesque realms a lot of interesting landmarks for their trips.
For the New Year's Eve, the "festive dinner" in its menu also finding "the specialty of the house", deer locket with oranges -, there could participate 90 persons, because this is the limit capacity, but there is sure that many others would like to pass here "the threshold between the years". A stronger reason would be that the next day, on January 1st, there will be organized a travel by ropeway and the lunch will be served outdoors, having a barbecue, warm wine and plum brandy, and in the evening there will be a carnival. Those who do not succeed to get a place in the restaurant the canteen of Bucovina complex is available for them, meaning 100 places, for the New Year's Eve program (festive dinner) and a "Bucovina-like dinner", on the first day of the new year.
And in order to convince you that many clients have taken advantage of the services provided by the tourists' complex and food public services of CFR I want to remind you here that, along the year that we are getting ready to end, CFR hotels have accommodated monthly dozens of people, among whom, as the statistics within Real Estate Department show, the rail personnel represented the biggest percentage. And, by the receiving way, through the order and the cleanness and through the quality of the services provided, railway complexes have also attracted other categories of tourists.
