Rapid Aristocrat Fan Club

The CFR Club CS Rapid represented since its founding a special phenomenon in the life of Romanian sport. It is here that many good athletes were formed. They brought to CS Rapid many medals and prizes in national and international competitions. The even represented our country in European and world Olympiads. We can mention a few of the names that emerged from Rapid: Maricica Puica, Gabriela Szabo, etc

Volley, handball and football teams gathered hundreds of supporters, united under the white-cherry flag were happy ad sad with their idols. We cannot deny the fact that football - the king sport has most of the sympathisers and supporters.

This is also happening with Rapid. The last years brought much joy among the white-cherry supporters. The team is now in the top positions of Romanian football. In 1999 they won the Romanian Championship for the second time.

This victory meant an eternal place in the golden book of footballers for the champions.

A few of the most ardent supporters of Rapid decided to start a club that will be "a form of manifestation for the desire to intellectually promote the Rapid state of mind." Rapid Aristocrat Fan Club was the name they chose. Engineer Gheorghe Scurtu, Doctor Mihai Parvu, economist Dinu Gheorghe, economist Mihai Radu and journalist Cristian Costache, started the group last year.

They want this club to include people with the same ideals as Rapid, no matter their membership to the gallery, the administration of the UFC Rapid or simple sympathizers of another team. The only conditions the future members have to fulfill to enter the Rapid Aristocrat Fan Club are moral integrity, professional and intellectual education. They also wish to follow the English model and prepare public meetings with a close circuit. The club is independent ass status spiritually and financially. The objectives they follow are recognition, defending the history and tradition of Rapid, active involvement to instill fair play in Romanian football and the most romantic of all - worthy of "football aristocrats:" to show that love eliminates hate and violence.

The idea caught on and on October 7 1999, at the Pro Rapid headquarters the 21 founders established the 15 articles of the statute of the club and signed the constituency act. On the same occasion, members of UFC Rapid administration gave their accord for the juridical personality statute of the club.

The headquarters were set on Resita Street at no 18, BL A 18, sc A, Apt 6, sector 4 Bucharest. The directors of the association were also chose then: Gheorghe Scurtu, Mihai Parvu, Mihai Radu, Cristian Costache, Roberto Verdes, Gabriel Nastase and Cristian Troncota.
We can only wish them good luck and to wait for news as to what they did under the aegis of the originality. Their motto is: "The Rapid Emotional contribution is always impressive."
