Electrification of Tecuci - Barbosi section

 

Designed between 1982 - 1983, the electrification of railway section Doaga (Gen. Eremia Grigorescu) - Tecuci - Barbosi started in 1989. After 1990, due to the insufficient investment funds allocated, the works have been dallied, being finalized and put in operation only Doaga - Tecuci section in 1996. On the other section (Tecuci - Barbosi) was achieved the installation of the pillars that sustain the contact line over 90% of the surface, and at the two hauling substations included (Hanu Conachi and Tecuci) construction part is in a quite advance stage.

The current year there have been allocated funds for the continuation of this investment. Taking into consideration the oldness of the design and, implicit, of the solutions stipulated, as well as the modifications occurred in the configuration of the railway stations, there was considered necessary to up date the execution documentation. There has been decided the utilization of the technical solutions stipulated at the rehabilitation works of the contact line of Bucarest - Campina section, part of the pan - European Corridor IV, including the use of certain superior quality materials.

The main elements of novelty consist in the utilization of the carrying cable made of bronze conductor with a 70 mm2 section, of the pendulums from the flexible bronze conductor with a 10 mm2 and the pendulums joints made from copper alloy. This way, the system pendulum - joint provides a very good electrical link between the carrying cable and the contact line, fact that unable the mounting of the transversal electrical contacts and leads to the considerable increase of the service duration of the pendulums. All the screws up to M12 will be made of stainless steel. The overhangs will be horizontal types, the yoke from the pipe being supported on the strut and the carrying cable mounted under the yoke. Carrying fastener will be made rigid by the struts with bars in order to counter - attack the wind, and the fastener will have an oblique pendulum. Linking, of a completely compensated type, will be separated for the contact line and for the carrying cable, with trolley and with blocking device. In case of breaking off of one of these conductors, the compensation device moves a little and it is blocked, this way avoiding the fall of the counter - weights and the throw out of gear of the chain. The serial isolators in the conductors who lead to the anchoring device will be made of composite materials, resistant to the vandalism actions. In the areas with strong wind and in the curves for a less distance than 700 m, there will be stipulated semi-zones of maximum 600 m, with a rigid anchoring at an end with a completely compensated anchoring in the other.

For the supporting part of the contact line (pillars, anchors) which, as we presented above, is made most of all, the execution documentation will comprise only the adapting to the new technical solutions proposed for the equipment part of the contact line and the new configuration of the tracks and stations.

The protection of the metallic objects from the rail and from its neighborhood will be made of collector cable linked to the median of the joint bobbin.

The two hauling sub-stations will be made in a new concept utilized at the sub-stations on the Corridor IV. The circuit breakers of 110 kV will be isolated by SF (hex - Fluor of sulfa) and the part of 27.5 kV will be a interior type, with capsulated cells, the circuit breakers being with the breaking off systems of the electric spring in vacuum. Secondary circuits will be "intelligent" - numerical protections being assisted by the computer. Monitoring equipment of the consumed power will be numerical.

Geographical area crossed by this railway section being, during the winter period, extremely exposed to the weather phenomena, the designers will study and will propose competitive devices for the avoidance of switch points blocking.

This year will be put in operation the electrification of Barbosi - Independenta section, on a length of 21 km, being supplied by a new fiber from the hauling station Barbosi, and the next year it is going to reach Tecuci and to finalize also the sub-station Hanu Conachi.

The completion of the electrification works on Tecuci- Barbosi section will allow the increase of the speed from 100 km/h up to 160 km/h, a very important element for this line that has a quite intense traffic.
