Galati regional railway company

Specialized personnel completed capital repairs on the bridge on km 106 + 231 on the Adjud - Ciceu line. Capital repairs are advancing at the bridge on km 101 + 466 on the Ploiesti - Vicsani line.
Capital repairs were carried out on 23.3 km of lines, out of the 34.3 km scheduled.
In 11 months, the number of speed limit areas dropped from 54, on a total length of 77,560 m, to 39, on 71,530 m.
Relevant is the drop in the number of sections not covered in travel timetables from 38 on January 1, to 24 on December 2, 1999.
The company acquired 68 Geismar machines (20 track cutting machines, 24 for nut tightening and 24 for tack polishing) and a Colmar machine, specialized in trench cleaning and vegetation cutting.


Bucharest regional railway company

The capital repairs program for installations was finalized entirely.
Significant works were done to improve labor conditions at the Bucuresti Triaj Complex. Costs are estimated at over 1.5 billion lei.
Used track was replaced, special sleepers introduced on bridges and lines rebuilt; speed limits were waived on five sections.
In the Brazi station, a junction was replaced.


Iasi regional railway company

The Iasi company acquired in 1999 Plasser & Theurer equipment to improve infrastructure quality with new working methods and procedures, related to measurement and design. New technologies also allowed travel speeds to be maintained or even increased, with reduced personnel.

 


Cluj regional railway company

The rebuilding program in the last part of the year resulted in 30 km of track being upgraded, at a cost of over 30 billion lei.
- embankments were rebuilt with consolidation by drilling 300 concrete poles and columns between Cojocna Tunel and Boiu, on line I;
- embankments were rebuilt between Aghires and Stana, on line II;
- embankments were rebuilt between Calarasi Turda and Razboieni, and between Valea lui Mihai - Carei.
Metal plates are currently being replaced at the bridge entering the Oradea station.
