CLOSE TO ITS EMPLOYEESThe Bucharest regional railway company took this year a number of steps to improve working conditions at the Bucuresti Triaj and Ploiesti Triaj complexes, and in the company's other stations. These measures included repairs, restoration works for toilets and locker rooms, completion of general equipment (especially for execution personnel), interior arrangements, specific works for spring and winter preparations, and supplies and distribution of working and protection gear.
According to trade union demands, the Bucharest regional railway company has provided its sub-units with equipment that will improve employees' living standards - ergonomic seats, desks and radiators. As to the supply of uniforms and adequate protection and working equipment, personnel was offered summer and winter apparel, coats, boots, hats, anti-acid suits, protection glasses, electro-insulating boots, rubber gloves, high-voltage gloves, electro-insulating boots, protective helmets, and warning vests.
For operations that require a large volume of hand work and materials, such as depth drilling (around 200 m) for drinking water supplies. As well as sewer and connection to the city network, documentation is ready or being prepared for obtaining the necessary construction authorizations.
In collaboration with the Bucharest patrimony Division and other construction and service companies, authorized by REFER, the Bucharest regional railway company completed significant works, such as: sewer cleaning, water draining, interior arrangements, repairs for sanitary installations, interior and outdoor building repairs.
Among the works carried out in the Bucuresti Triaj railway station were:
B2 building:
- repairs for interior and outdoor plaster work and smokestacks;
- manual mud cleaning;
- removal of PVC and parquetry floors;
- removal of separating walls;
- wall and ceiling painting.
CED building:
- repairs for interior plaster work, PVC carpeting, doors and windows;
- faience;
- replacement of deteriorated doors;
- window puttying;
- carpentry painting;
- indoor and outdoor painting;
Bucuresti Triaj complex:
- surface cleaning with wire brush;
- repairs for plaster work and sanitary installations;
- replacement of the water repellent installation;
- isolation of drain holes;
- removal of the metal work and installation of aluminum parts;
- wall painting;
Similar works were finalized in other railway stations within the company: Ploiesti-Vest, Floresti Prahova, Breaza, Comarnic, Posada, Valea Larga, Campina, Sinaia, Chitila, Buftea, Peris, Scrovistea, Crivina, Prahova, Brazi and the Nistoresti whistle-stop.
All these activities were executed under contract or order, according to documentation compiled by the design Bureau of the Bucharest regional railway company and the Institute for Railway Research and Design. Equipment for execution personnel was supplied by specialized companies or by the Supplies Service.
Works that required a higher volume (well drilling, water connection and supplies, and sewer connections) will be continued next year, along with the other works that will be included in the plan to improve social conditions.Magdalena Stanciu
