Environment Protection in Europe

Lately, on European plan it is more and more stressed the coordination of the transport policies of the developed countries with transitional ones, in order to eliminate the disturbances caused by this activity sector with respect to the "sera effect" and environment pollution.
This subject has been discussed on the occasion of a meeting that took place at the end of July, current year, in Bonn, where an agreement was signed in order to allow the utilization of some more flexible mechanisms for all European countries, that will support them in environment protection projects, especially for those who will invest in this respect in the countries with a transitional economy. There was also highlighted a significant fact meaning: these mechanisms are only a supplement for the internal actions developed by every country in order to reduce the sera effect. It is also very important to achieve a coordination of the transport policies between the developed countries and transitional ones in order to reduce foreign costs of the world level transports, the studies showing that 23% of the carbon emission is generated by transport activities, 80 up to 90 percents from this value being generate by road transport.
Railway development, an ecological mode of transportation, is one of the most efficient measures in order to reduce the pollution and has positive results on short term, as well as on medium term. The most concrete example that we can mention in order to sustain this thesis, with respect to the ecological impact of the rail transport on the environment in comparison to the road environment, as it follows: a freight train with 30 wagons that are equivalent with 60 trucks!
Within the European Union there have been made important steps in order to identify the possible measures, which allow putting in application different environment protection methods, stressing especially the railway transport development by sustaining them. On the other hand, there have been underlined that the rail sector asks for political decisions that will support the adopted projects and concrete measures for their application.
