Feminine handball team Rapid CFR will be managed, since this month, by another technician. Due to certain health conditions, after years of coaching, the professor Vasile Margulescu had to quit the coach position of the team under the Grant bridge.

At the beginning of this month, the coach of the feminine handball team Rapid CFR Bucharest, Vasile Margulescu, has been hospitalized at the emergency, due to certain serious health problems. "Even from the hospital bed I remain next to the them and I will advise them in order to achieve their goals", the foolhardy coach had declared.
Due to the unavailability Mr. Vasile Margulescu - seemingly on a quite long period of time -, the president of the handball team from Giulesti, Mr. Mihai Necolaiciuc, has decided to name as main coach of the team the former international player Gheorghe Covaciu.
"The management of the club appreciates especially the efforts of the professor Margulescu, who has succeeded to maintain the handball team on the first place of the championship. We cannot leave the serious health problems aside, implying rest. So we have enhanced this temporary retirement, hoping in the same time that he will continue to help us with the experience he had gained," Mr. Mihai Necolaiciuc has specified.

"I hope to gain both titles"
Along his carrier, the new coach of the handball girls from Rapid CFR Bucharest, Gheorghe Covaciu has activated at different clubs from the country and from abroad. After the graduation of the technical school for coaches from Bucharest, in 1994, has coordinated the activity of known handball team from Baia Mare: Minaur 2 Phoenix Baia Mare (boys), Agecom Era Baia Mare (girls), Ursus Baia Mare (girls) and Selmont Baia Mare (the former Agecom), with the last one succeeding the qualification in the City Cup.
"Rapid CFR Bucharest is a very good team, with strong and ambitious players. In fact the position from the classification certifies its performances. In the short period of time left up to the end of the return championship, I will try - because there is no time for changes - to introduce in their playing tactics a few new combinations for a more direct goal attack. And, of course, during the time we will tune up the other stages from the playing tactics. With respect to the immediate games when I will make my debut on the technical bench of Rapid, these are quite tough, but I am sure that the experience of the girls will help us win, in order not to disappoint our supporters and all those who trust us", the new technician has declared.

Rapid CFR Bucharest - Tomis Constanta
After 36 years, the title of national champion at feminine handball can reach once again in Giulesti. With six stages before the final of the return game, Rapid CFR Bucharest has distanced with three points of the second place occupant, Silcotub Zalau. In the XVIth phase the handball players from Rapid CFR Bucharest have won without any problems (with 40-30) in front of the players from Tomis Constanta.
The XVIth phase has proved to be favorable to the team under the Grant bridge. It was a championship game as any others. And our girls have approached consequently.
For Rapid CFR, Aurelia Gradeanu, from the host team, Tomis Constanta has scored the most goals (12) in this game, and being also remarked Ionela Gasca, as the author of 14 goals.
The Rapid player Cristina Mihai had to watch the evolution of her colleagues from the bench, being quite seriously injured in the first half.
